We’re celebrating 10 years of our Kendra Cares program, which brings creative arts to pediatric hospitals across the country. We provide patients and their caregivers with a joyful, hands-on experience: designing a custom piece of Kendra Scott jewelry at no cost. It’s a meaningful break from the daily challenges of illness and care, creating a moment of self-expression that includes a special keepsake.
Program Overview
The Kendra Scott Foundation is committed to empowering youth through health and wellness initiatives. Our signature program, Kendra Cares, does just that by lifting the spirits of pediatric patients and their caregivers through an expressive activity and the gift of personalized jewelry.
HOW IT WORKS
For each Kendra Cares event, patients and their caregivers are invited in advance by our partner hospitals. Participants select a jewelry style and a stone color of their choice, and a Kendra Scott volunteer assembles their custom piece in front of them. Our volunteers guide each participant throughout the activity, creating connection and comfort from the very first interaction. Each participant leaves with a unique piece of jewelry to wear or share as a gift—bringing joy during their hospital stay and beyond.
PARTNER HOSPITALS
Our pediatric hospital partners are selected through direct relationships with our local Kendra Scott teams. The Child Life teams at these hospitals are incredibly helpful in coordinating our Kendra Cares events. They ensure hospital compliance, and our teams take care of the rest.
STARLIGHT CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION PARTNERSHIP
To celebrate 10 years of Kendra Cares, we're partnering with The Starlight Children’s Foundation to bring even more happiness and comfort to patients in our Kendra Cares hospitals through hospital-based programs like Starlight Gaming, Toy Deliveries, and Starlight Hospital Gowns to help ease boredom, pain, fear, and anxiety, and to foster a sense of normalcy and play.
Our Impact
Our nationwide program has touched over 35,000 lives and is a powerful reminder that even small moments of joy can leave a lasting impact. This desire to nurture both creativity and comfort is the driving force behind our commitment to supporting these families and hospitals.
